About Position: We are seeking an experienced Kubernetes & Kafka Platform Engineer with 8-12 years of experience in cloud-native platform engineering, container orchestration, event-streaming platforms, and enterprise infrastructure management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and optimizing Kubernetes and Apache Kafka platforms across enterprise environments. This role requires strong expertise in platform reliability, automation, observability, security, CI/CD, and cloud-native operational best practices. Role: Kubernetes & Kafka Platform Engineer Location: Pune Experience: 8 to 12 Years Job Type: Full-Time Employment What You'll Do: Design, deploy, configure, and maintain Kubernetes clusters across development, test, staging, and production environments. Manage Kubernetes platform components including namespaces, RBAC, ingress controllers, networking, storage classes, secrets, and cluster security. Deploy, configure, and support containerized applications using Kubernetes and Helm. Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or similar tools. Monitor Kubernetes platform health, performance, scalability, and availability. Troubleshoot cluster issues, pod failures, container crashes, networking problems, and resource bottlenecks. Implement platform security controls and ensure compliance with organizational standards. Deploy, administer, and maintain Apache Kafka clusters in enterprise environments. Configure and manage Kafka brokers, topics, partitions, replication, retention policies, and consumer groups. Implement Kafka security controls including encryption, authentication, authorization, and access management. Manage Kafka environments using Strimzi Kafka Operator on Kubernetes where applicable. Monitor Kafka cluster performance, throughput, storage utilization, and operational health. Perform capacity planning, platform optimization, and performance tuning activities. Troubleshoot producer, consumer, broker, replication, and connectivity issues. Design and implement disaster recovery, backup, failover, and high-availability solutions. Implement observability and monitoring solutions using Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor, or similar platforms. Collaborate with development, DevOps, SRE, cloud engineering, and data engineering teams to support platform modernization initiatives. Define and enforce platform engineering standards, operational procedures, automation strategies, and best practices. Support incident management, root cause analysis, problem management, and continuous reliability improvements. Contribute to infrastructure automation and cloud-native transformation initiatives. Expertise You'll Bring: 8-12 years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, SRE, Infrastructure Engineering, or Cloud-Native Operations. Strong hands-on experience administering and managing Kubernetes clusters in enterprise environments. Deep understanding of Kubernetes architecture, networking, storage, security, workload scheduling, and cluster operations. Expertise with Kubernetes ecosystem tools including Helm, Ingress Controllers, RBAC, Secrets Management, and Service Networking. Experience implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or equivalent tools. Strong experience with Apache Kafka administration and large-scale event-streaming platforms. Knowledge of Kafka architecture including brokers, partitions, replication, consumer groups, retention policies, and cluster management. Experience implementing Kafka security, monitoring, governance, and operational controls. Hands-on experience with Strimzi Kafka Operator and Kubernetes-based Kafka deployments. Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning expertise across Kubernetes and Kafka platforms. Experience implementing monitoring, logging, observability, and alerting solutions. Strong understanding of high-availability, disaster recovery, backup, and resiliency architectures. Experience working with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) or other managed Kubernetes platforms. Knowledge of cloud-native architecture patterns and microservices-based environments. Experience supporting large-scale production environments and mission-critical applications. Strong scripting, automation, and platform optimization skills. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and root-cause investigation capabilities. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Experience working within Agile, DevOps, and Site Reliability Engineering practices.
