About Position: We are seeking an experienced Development Lead - Golang Backend Engineering to drive the design, development, and delivery of scalable, secure, and cloud-native backend platforms. This role combines hands-on software engineering with technical leadership, architecture ownership, team mentoring, and delivery governance. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Golang, distributed systems, microservices architecture, cloud-native development, DevOps practices, and production-grade software engineering. You will work closely with Product Managers, Architects, QA teams, DevOps engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality backend systems that are scalable, reliable, and aligned with business objectives. Role: Development Lead - Golang Backend Engineering Location: Pune Experience: 8 to 12 Years Job Type: Full-Time Employment What You'll Do: Lead a team of backend engineers and drive end-to-end delivery of complex software solutions. Define scalable, secure, resilient, and high-performing backend architectures. Establish engineering standards, coding guidelines, and development best practices. Conduct architecture reviews, design reviews, proof-of-concepts, and code reviews. Make critical technical decisions while balancing business needs, scalability, and long-term maintainability. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align product requirements, architecture, and delivery plans. Identify technical risks early and implement effective mitigation strategies. Drive continuous improvement in engineering quality, performance, and operational excellence. Design and develop enterprise-grade backend services using Golang. Build and maintain RESTful APIs and gRPC-based service architectures. Develop scalable microservices and distributed applications. Design and implement event-driven architectures and asynchronous processing frameworks. Apply advanced concurrency concepts including goroutines, channels, synchronization patterns, context propagation, and cancellation handling. Optimize database designs, data access layers, and application performance. Build reliable integrations with databases, messaging platforms, and external systems. Troubleshoot complex production issues and lead root cause analysis activities. Implement performance optimization and scalability enhancements across backend services. Own sprint planning, technical estimations, release planning, and delivery commitments. Manage technical dependencies, architecture decisions, technical debt, and quality risks. Drive CI/CD implementation and deployment automation initiatives. Ensure compliance with coding standards, security requirements, quality controls, and documentation standards. Implement automated testing practices including unit, integration, and performance testing. Build observability and monitoring solutions to improve operational visibility. Use engineering metrics and KPIs to improve productivity, reliability, and delivery predictability. Support release readiness reviews and production deployment activities. Mentor engineers on coding best practices, system design, architecture, debugging, and problem-solving techniques. Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, collaboration, and innovation. Support hiring activities including technical interviews and candidate evaluations. Guide career growth and technical development of team members. Provide constructive feedback and coaching to improve team capabilities. Promote continuous learning and technical excellence throughout the organization. Expertise You'll Bring: 8-12 years of experience in software engineering with significant backend development expertise. Minimum 3+ years of experience in a Technical Lead, Development Lead, Lead Engineer, or equivalent leadership role. Strong hands-on expertise in Golang development and backend engineering. Deep understanding of Go language fundamentals including interfaces, concurrency, memory management, profiling, error handling, and performance tuning. Proven experience building scalable distributed systems and cloud-native applications. Extensive experience designing RESTful APIs and gRPC services. Strong understanding of service contracts, API versioning, authentication, authorization, and security frameworks. Expertise in Microservices Architecture, Domain-Driven Design, and event-driven systems. Strong knowledge of software design patterns, scalability principles, resiliency techniques, and high-availability architectures. Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server. Experience with NoSQL platforms including Redis, MongoDB, DynamoDB, Cassandra, or similar technologies. Hands-on experience with messaging and event streaming platforms such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, NATS, Azure Service Bus, or AWS messaging services. Strong cloud platform experience across AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform. Expertise with Docker, Kubernetes, container orchestration, deployment automation, and cloud-native infrastructure. Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation. Strong understanding of DevOps practices, release management, and software delivery processes. Hands-on experience with Git, automated testing frameworks, code quality tools, and vulnerability management. Knowledge of observability tools including OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or equivalent monitoring platforms. Strong understanding of structured logging, metrics collection, distributed tracing, and alerting strategies. Expertise in secure coding practices, OWASP principles, API security, secrets management, and threat-aware system design. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and modern software development lifecycles.
