About Position: We are seeking an experienced AWS Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize scalable data platforms on AWS. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in AWS data services, ETL/ELT development, Python/PySpark programming, and data warehousing. The role involves building reliable data ingestion frameworks, managing enterprise data lakes, implementing orchestration workflows, and enabling analytics through high-performance data processing solutions. Role: Data Engineer Location: Pune Experience: 2 to 5 Years Job Type: Full-Time Employment What You'll Do: Build and maintain data ingestion pipelines using AWS AppFlow, MSK, DMS, and SFTP integrations Develop scalable ETL/ELT workflows using AWS Glue and Amazon EMR Design and manage enterprise data lakes on Amazon S3 including RAW, Curated, and Analytics zones Implement data transformation and orchestration using DBT Core and DBT Cloud Develop and manage orchestration workflows using DBT, AWS Step Functions, and EventBridge Build and optimize batch and streaming data pipelines Design and develop reusable Python libraries and API integration frameworks Implement large-scale data processing using Python and PySpark Develop and optimize data models for analytical and reporting requirements Manage and optimize Amazon Redshift environments for performance and scalability Implement Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCD), schema evolution, and data warehouse best practices Optimize query performance using Athena and Redshift Build serverless data processing workflows using AWS Lambda Ensure data quality, validation, governance, and monitoring across data pipelines Collaborate with Data Modellers, QA teams, DevOps teams, and business stakeholders Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis Support CI/CD, automation, and deployment activities for data engineering solutions Create technical documentation, operational procedures, and data flow documentation Expertise You'll Bring: 4 to 8 years of experience in Data Engineering and Data Platform development Strong hands-on experience in Python and PySpark development Advanced SQL programming and query optimization skills Experience building batch and streaming data pipelines Strong expertise with AWS Glue, Amazon S3, Amazon EMR, and Amazon Redshift Experience developing ETL/ELT solutions on AWS Hands-on experience with AWS DMS, AppFlow, and Amazon MSK Strong understanding of Amazon Redshift architecture, performance tuning, schema design, and optimization Experience implementing SCD, schema evolution, and data warehousing concepts Experience with DBT Core and DBT Cloud for transformation and orchestration Hands-on experience with AWS Step Functions and EventBridge Experience developing AWS Lambda-based solutions Knowledge of data lake architecture and implementation best practices Understanding of data modeling principles and dimensional modeling concepts Experience working with Athena and query performance optimization Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for data platforms Experience with API integrations and reusable framework development Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills Experience working in Agile development environments Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills Exposure to cloud security, governance, and data compliance best practices will be an advantage Benefits: Competitive salary and benefits package Culture focused on talent development with quarterly growth opportunities and company-sponsored higher education and certifications Opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies Employee engagement initiatives such as project parties, flexible work hours, and Long Service awards Annual health check-ups Insurance coverage: group term life, personal accident, and Mediclaim hospitalization for self, spouse, two children, and parents Values-Driven, People-Centric & Inclusive Work Environment: Persistent is dedicated to fostering diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
