About Position: We are seeking an experienced Kubernetes & Kafka Platform Engineer with 8-12 years of experience in cloud-native platform engineering, container orchestration, event streaming, and enterprise infrastructure operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and optimizing Kubernetes and Apache Kafka platforms that support business-critical applications and data streaming workloads. This role requires strong expertise in Kubernetes administration, Kafka operations, platform automation, observability, CI/CD, and cloud-native architectures. You will play a key role in ensuring platform scalability, reliability, security, and operational excellence across enterprise environments. Role: Kubernetes & Kafka Platform Engineer Location: Pune Experience: 8 to 12 Years Job Type: Full-Time Employment What You'll Do: Design, deploy, configure, and maintain Kubernetes clusters across production and non-production environments. Manage Kubernetes components including namespaces, RBAC, ingress controllers, service accounts, storage classes, secrets, and networking configurations. Deploy and manage containerized applications using Kubernetes and Helm. Implement and maintain platform automation and infrastructure operational processes. Configure and optimize Kubernetes networking, service discovery, and workload scheduling. Monitor cluster health, capacity, availability, and performance. Troubleshoot cluster issues, resource bottlenecks, pod failures, and networking problems. Ensure platform security through access controls, security policies, and governance standards. Support multi-cluster Kubernetes deployments and platform modernization initiatives. Drive scalability, resiliency, and high-availability improvements across Kubernetes environments. Design, deploy, configure, and maintain Apache Kafka clusters in enterprise environments. Manage Kafka deployments using Strimzi Kafka Operator and Kubernetes-based architectures. Administer Kafka brokers, topics, partitions, replication strategies, consumer groups, and retention policies. Implement Kafka security solutions including TLS encryption, authentication, authorization, and access controls. Monitor Kafka performance, throughput, latency, storage utilization, and cluster health. Perform capacity planning, tuning, optimization, and operational management. Troubleshoot producer, consumer, broker, replication, and connectivity-related issues. Design and support highly available Kafka architectures and disaster recovery solutions. Establish operational standards and best practices for Kafka platforms. Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or similar platforms. Implement monitoring, observability, logging, and alerting frameworks. Utilize tools such as Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor, or equivalent monitoring solutions. Support platform incident management and perform root cause analysis for production issues. Collaborate with development, cloud, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to support platform engineering initiatives. Define automation strategies to improve platform reliability and operational efficiency. Drive continuous improvement of platform performance, security, and operational maturity. Support disaster recovery planning, backup strategy implementation, and business continuity requirements. Develop technical documentation, operational runbooks, standards, and architecture guidelines. Expertise You'll Bring: 8-12 years of experience in Platform Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, Cloud Engineering, or DevOps environments. Strong hands-on expertise in Kubernetes administration and cloud-native infrastructure management. Deep understanding of Kubernetes architecture, cluster operations, networking, security, and workload management. Experience with Helm charts, Kubernetes Operators, and container orchestration best practices. Strong experience with Apache Kafka deployment, administration, and operational support. Expertise in Kafka architecture including brokers, topics, partitions, replication, retention, and consumer group management. Hands-on experience deploying and managing Kafka using Strimzi Kafka Operator. Strong understanding of event-driven architectures and enterprise streaming platforms. Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or similar technologies. Knowledge of Kubernetes networking, ingress controllers, service mesh concepts, and security controls. Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning experience across Kubernetes and Kafka environments. Expertise in monitoring, observability, logging, and alerting frameworks. Experience with Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor, or comparable observability platforms. Experience designing highly available and disaster recovery-ready platform solutions. Knowledge of platform automation and Infrastructure as Code practices. Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) or other managed Kubernetes services. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities. Experience working in Agile, DevOps, and Platform Engineering teams.
