About Position: We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled Junior Okta Engineer to join our Identity and Access Management (IAM) team. The ideal candidate will have foundational experience with Okta Identity Cloud and a strong understanding of identity lifecycle management, authentication, and access management concepts. In this role, you will support the implementation, configuration, testing, and operational activities of the Okta Customer Identity Services (CIS) platform. Working closely with Senior IAM Engineers and Solution Architects, you will contribute to application onboarding, IAM automation, identity governance initiatives, and secure access management solutions. Role: Junior Okta Engineer Location: Bangalore Experience: 2 to 5 Years Job Type: Full-Time Employment What You'll Do: Support the configuration and administration of Okta Universal Directory, user profiles, attributes, and profile mappings. Configure and maintain Okta Groups, Group Rules, and application assignments based on approved solution designs. Assist with manual user onboarding and CSV-based bulk onboarding processes. Support implementation and testing of Joiner, Mover, and Leaver (JML) lifecycle management processes. Configure and maintain user provisioning and de-provisioning workflows. Assist in developing, testing, and maintaining Okta Workflows for lifecycle automation, approvals, notifications, and operational processes. Support implementation of Okta Identity Governance capabilities, including Access Requests, Resource Catalogs, approval workflows, and Access Certification campaigns. Assist with onboarding enterprise applications to Okta using Single Sign-On (SSO) technologies. Support integration of applications using SAML 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), OAuth 2.0, and related authentication protocols. Configure and validate application attribute mappings, user assignments, and group-based access controls. Assist with Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and authentication policy configuration. Support Org2Org federation setup, testing, and validation activities under the guidance of senior engineers. Execute unit testing, integration testing, SIT, and UAT activities and document testing results. Troubleshoot authentication, provisioning, workflow, and access-related issues and escalate complex issues when required. Support migration, deployment, and configuration validation between Preview and Production environments. Maintain technical documentation, configuration records, test artifacts, runbooks, and operational procedures. Support production deployments, Hypercare activities, incident tracking, and post-deployment validations. Participate in knowledge transfer sessions, technical reviews, and team learning initiatives. Collaborate with application teams, security teams, architects, and other stakeholders throughout project delivery. Expertise You'll Bring: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related discipline. 2-5 years of experience in Identity and Access Management, application security, or access management environments. Hands-on experience or strong knowledge of Okta Identity Cloud and Universal Directory. Understanding of identity lifecycle management concepts, including Joiner, Mover, and Leaver (JML) processes. Experience working with Okta Workflows and lifecycle automation capabilities. Knowledge of Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), and access management concepts. Basic understanding of authentication and federation standards including SAML 2.0, OAuth 2.0, and OpenID Connect (OIDC). Understanding of user provisioning and de-provisioning processes. Familiarity with group management and access control implementation. Knowledge of identity governance and compliance concepts. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Ability to diagnose authentication and access-related issues. Good verbal and written communication skills. Strong documentation and organizational capabilities. Ability to work effectively with senior engineers, architects, and project stakeholders. Willingness to learn new technologies and continuously expand IAM expertise. Ability to work in a collaborative team environment and manage multiple priorities.
