Job Title Duck Creek Solution Architect Experience 12–18 Years Location Pune / Bangalore / Hyderabad / Role Summary We are looking for an experienced Duck Creek Architect to lead the design, implementation, and modernization of Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance platforms using the Duck Creek Suite. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Duck Creek Policy, Billing, Claims, Rating, Underwriting, Product Configuration, Integrations, and Cloud architecture. The role requires collaboration with business stakeholders, enterprise architects, delivery teams, and insurers to define scalable target-state architectures and drive successful transformation initiatives. The responsibilities align with internal Duck Creek migration and modernization programmes currently documented across the organisation. Key Responsibilities Solution & Enterprise Architecture • Define end-to-end Duck Creek architecture for Policy Administration, Billing, Claims, and Digital ecosystems. • Establish target-state architecture, integration patterns, security standards, and deployment strategies. • Lead architecture workshops and solution discovery sessions with business and technology stakeholders. • Create architecture artefacts including solution diagrams, integration blueprints, data flows, and deployment models. Duck Creek Platform Design • Architect solutions leveraging: o Duck Creek Policy o Duck Creek Billing o Duck Creek Insights / Clarity o Duck Creek Forms o Duck Creek Digital Engagement o Duck Creek OnDemand • Design product configuration, underwriting rules, rating engines, forms, workflows, and policy lifecycle transactions. Integration Architecture • Design API-first integration frameworks. • Integrate Duck Creek with: o Billing Systems o Claims Platforms o CRM Systems o Data Warehouses o Third-Party Providers o Rating and Underwriting Engines • Establish integration standards using REST APIs, messaging, event-driven patterns, and middleware platforms. Data Migration & Modernization • Define migration strategies from legacy platforms such as COBOL, IMS, DB2, Guidewire, or home-grown PAS systems. • Drive data conversion, reconciliation, validation, and premium parity initiatives. • Architect migration factories, transformation frameworks, and cutover approaches. Governance & Leadership • Lead architecture reviews and design governance. • Mentor developers, configuration specialists, and technical leads. • Review technical designs and ensure adherence to best practices. • Participate in pre-sales, estimation, solutioning, and proposal development. Required Technical Skills Duck Creek Expertise • Duck Creek Policy • Duck Creek Billing • Duck Creek Forms • Duck Creek Rating • Product Studio • Author • Express • Duck Creek OnDemand Internal documents specifically reference product configuration, underwriting rules, rating algorithms, forms, policy administration capabilities, and cloud-hosted Duck Creek PAS implementations. Insurance Domain Knowledge Strong understanding of: • Personal Lines Insurance • Commercial Lines Insurance • Policy Administration • Underwriting • Claims • Billing • Regulatory Forms & Filings • Endorsements • Renewals • New Business Processing. Integration & Cloud • REST APIs • Microservices • Azure or AWS Cloud • Event-driven architecture • Data Warehousing • ETL Pipelines • CI/CD and DevOps Internal architecture references specifically call out API-enabled, cloud-hosted platforms, downstream integrations, analytics platforms, and ecosystem connectivity. Required Qualifications • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology. • 12+ years in Insurance Technology. • 5+ years of Duck Creek implementation experience. • Multiple full lifecycle Duck Creek implementations. • Proven architecture leadership experience across large transformation programs. Preferred Qualifications • Duck Creek Certified Architect. • Experience in Mainframe-to-Duck Creek modernisation programmes. • Experience with GenAI-assisted migration and business-rule extraction initiatives. • Experience in US P&C Insurance carriers. Mandatory Screening Criteria (Recommended) For your Hartford and similar insurance opportunities, I would recommend the following as mandatory: • 12+ years overall experience • 5+ years on Duck Creek • Duck Creek Policy implementation experience • P&C Insurance domain expertise • Product Configuration, Rating, Underwriting & Forms • API Integration Architecture • Cloud Architecture (Azure/AWS) • Data Migration & Modernisation experience • Prior Solution Architect or Lead Architect role • Experience working with US Insurance carriers
