Job Description ? Senior SAP CPI Consultant 1. Role Summary We are seeking a Senior SAP CPI (Cloud Platform Integration) Consultant with 8?12 years of experience to design, build, and support enterprise integrations across SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA landscapes. The role involves ownership of end-to-end integration lifecycle including design, development, testing, deployment, and support using SAP CPI / SAP BTP Integration Suite. The consultant will work closely with functional, technical, and business teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance integrations across SAP and non-SAP systems. The position supports implementation, rollout, enhancements, and steady-state support (L2/L3) programs in global environments. 2. Key Responsibilities A. Integration Design & Delivery Design and implement end-to-end integration solutions using SAP CPI Develop, deploy, and maintain iFlows for various integration scenarios Build integrations across: SAP S/4HANA, ECC and other Non SAP Systems External/third-party systems via APIs Ensure scalable, reusable, and performance-optimized integration design B. Implementation & Transformation Programs Participate in full SAP lifecycle (Discover, Design, Build, Test, Deploy, Hypercare) Support ECC to S/4HANA transformation programs including integration redesign Lead/participate in Fit-to-Standard / Fit-Gap workshops Contribute to global template design and rollout execution C. Integration Development Configure adapters (SOAP, REST, IDoc, SFTP, HTTPS, OData, JDBC) Develop mappings (Graphical, XSLT), value mappings, and routing logic Build advanced logic using Groovy scripting and Java-based extensions Enable API-based integrations and event-driven architecture D. Monitoring, Support & Optimization Monitor CPI interfaces, troubleshoot failures, and perform root cause analysis Support L2/L3 production support under SLA-driven environments Implement error handling, retry mechanisms, and alerting frameworks Drive performance tuning and continuous improvement of integrations E. Integration Architecture & Governance Ensure adherence to integration best practices, security standards, and governance Collaborate with BASIS, Security, and Functional teams for end-to-end delivery F. Documentation & Stakeholder Collaboration Prepare technical design documents (TDD), interface specs, and runbooks Work closely with functional consultants (FICO, SD, MM, etc.) Participate in design discussions with business and client stakeholders Mentor junior team members and support knowledge transfer 3. Functional & Technical Skills A. SAP Integration & Platform Skills SAP CPI (Cloud Integration) ? Core expertise SAP BTP Integration Suite SAP PI/PO (good to have) API Management (APIM), Event Mesh (preferred) B. SAP Landscape Knowledge SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA (Public/Private Cloud) Integration across SAP modules: FICO, SD, MM, PP, etc. Experience with multi-system landscapes and cloud integrations C. Integration Technologies API-based integrations (REST, SOAP) IDoc, RFC, OData services D. CPI Development Skills iFlow development and configuration Message mapping (Graphical, XSLT, Script-based) Groovy scripting and UDF development Exception handling and logging frameworks E. Data & Protocol Handling XML, JSON processing Security protocols (OAuth2, certificates, PGP encryption) File-based integrations (SFTP, FTP) F. DevOps & Tools Transport management and deployment Monitoring tools and alerting Tools: Postman, SOAP UI, ServiceNow (ticketing), etc. 4. Soft Skills Strong communication and stakeholder management skills Ability to engage with global teams and clients Good analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to translate business requirements into technical integration designs Strong ownership and accountability mindset Capability to mentor junior consultants and guide teams 5. Experience Requirements 8?12 years of total SAP experience Minimum 4?6 years hands-on experience in SAP CPI Experience across: SAP ECC and S/4HANA environments End-to-end implementations and/or global rollouts Integration design, development, and production support Experience in global, multi-region projects preferred Exposure to ITIL-based support environments is an advantage
