About Position: We are seeking a highly motivated Lead Engineer / Senior Lead Engineer with 5-8 years of experience in Java-based enterprise application development within the Insurance domain. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering high-quality software solutions using Majesco's proprietary platform and toolkit. This role requires strong expertise in software engineering best practices, API development, integration technologies, and insurance business processes. The candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, architects, product teams, and customers to deliver scalable and maintainable solutions for Billing or Distribution Management platforms. Role: Lead Engineer Location: Pune Experience: 5 to 8 Years Job Type: Full-Time Employment What You'll Do: Understand business and client requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions. Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality software applications using Java technologies and Majesco platform capabilities. Apply software engineering best practices including secure coding, automation, reusability, maintainability, and performance optimization. Create application designs using Test-Driven Development (TDD) principles to ensure extensibility and long-term maintainability. Develop REST and SOAP-based APIs and integrate applications with internal and external systems. Build and enhance user-facing components using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and web standards. Collaborate with business analysts, architects, product owners, and stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle. Participate in solution design discussions and contribute to architectural decisions. Perform effort estimation, project planning, and timely delivery of assigned tasks. Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues during testing and production support phases. Ensure product quality through unit testing, code reviews, and adherence to development standards. Support CI/CD implementation and application deployment processes. Work within Agile and SAFe delivery environments to ensure smooth execution of project objectives. Maintain technical documentation, design specifications, and deployment procedures. For Senior Lead Engineer responsibilities, provide technical leadership, mentor developers, and guide small development teams. Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on development efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction. Expertise You'll Bring: 5-8 years of hands-on experience in software development using Java technologies. Strong expertise in Java, object-oriented programming, and enterprise application development. Experience with SQL and PL/SQL for database design, development, and optimization. Strong understanding of RESTful and SOAP-based web services architecture and integration patterns. Experience with front-end technologies including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern web standards. Knowledge of software design patterns, development frameworks, and application architecture principles. Experience using source code management tools such as SVN or similar version control systems. Hands-on experience with build management and deployment processes. Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices. Experience working in Agile or SAFe software development environments. Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and production support capabilities. Ability to interact effectively with internal teams, clients, and business stakeholders. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines. Experience delivering enterprise-grade insurance or financial services applications.
