About Position: We are seeking an experienced Lead Data Analyst with deep expertise in Personal Lines Insurance (Automotive & Home Insurance) and large-scale core system migration programs. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in leading data analysis, migration strategy, validation, and governance activities for the migration of legacy Mainframe-based insurance platforms to the Duck Creek suite. This role requires a strong combination of insurance domain expertise, data migration experience, technical proficiency, and leadership capabilities. You will serve as the key liaison between business stakeholders, data engineers, migration teams, system integrators, and Duck Creek specialists to ensure accurate data migration, regulatory compliance, operational continuity, and successful program delivery. Role: Lead Data Analyst Location: Pune Experience: 8 to 12 Years Job Type: Full-Time Employment What You'll Do: Lead source-to-target mapping (STTM) activities from legacy Mainframe environments to Duck Creek Policy, Claims, and Billing modules. Analyze COBOL copybooks, DB2 databases, flat files, and other legacy data sources to understand existing data structures and relationships. Perform comprehensive data profiling and data quality assessments on policy, claims, billing, customer, and financial data. Identify data anomalies, inconsistencies, duplicates, and gaps requiring cleansing or transformation. Define and document business transformation rules for legacy Personal Lines products and map them to Duck Creek data models. Collaborate with business and technical teams to develop migration strategies, validation frameworks, and reconciliation approaches. Support migration planning, cutover activities, and production readiness reviews. Validate migrated insurance data across policy administration, claims, billing, underwriting, and financial systems. Verify insurance-specific metrics including Written Premium, Earned Premium, Loss Ratios, Claims History, Policy Coverages, Deductibles, and Endorsements. Design and implement reconciliation processes to ensure migrated records accurately match source system balances and operational data. Work closely with underwriting, actuarial, product management, and claims teams to validate business outcomes. Ensure rating engine inputs and business rules perform consistently after migration. Conduct detailed data validation testing, defect analysis, root cause investigations, and remediation tracking. Support functional testing, SIT, UAT, and production validation activities. Lead and mentor a team of data analysts supporting multiple migration workstreams. Allocate ownership for migration streams such as Auto Policy, Home Policy, Claims, Billing, and Customer Data. Track project milestones, dependencies, and deliverables across data migration activities. Develop executive-level dashboards, status reports, migration readiness assessments, and governance updates. Communicate business impacts, risks, and mitigation strategies to leadership and stakeholders. Coordinate closely with Duck Creek configuration teams to resolve migration-related defects and data issues. Facilitate workshops, requirement discussions, and solution review sessions with business and technical stakeholders. Drive data governance, quality assurance, and best practices throughout the migration lifecycle. Expertise You'll Bring: Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline. 8-12 years of experience as a Data Analyst, Business Data Analyst, or Migration Lead. Minimum 3 years of experience leading data workstreams in large-scale core insurance platform migration programs. Strong domain expertise in Personal Lines Insurance, including Automotive and Home Insurance products. Comprehensive understanding of policy administration, underwriting, claims, billing, endorsements, renewals, and coverage management. Experience working with legacy Mainframe environments including COBOL copybooks, DB2 databases, flat files, and batch processes. Hands-on experience with Duck Creek Policy, Claims, Billing, or enterprise insurance transformation programs. Strong expertise in source-to-target mapping, data profiling, data migration, and reconciliation methodologies. Advanced SQL skills with experience writing complex joins, validations, reconciliation scripts, and data quality checks. Strong Python programming skills for data analysis, automation, and migration validation. Experience performing data cleansing, transformation, standardization, and enrichment activities. Strong understanding of relational databases and data warehousing concepts. Experience implementing automated validation and reconciliation frameworks. Ability to analyze and resolve complex data migration and business process challenges. Experience leading data quality and governance initiatives. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. Experience working closely with business users, product owners, architects, developers, and testing teams. Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities. Ability to lead teams and manage multiple migration streams simultaneously. Strong documentation and reporting skills.
